Job Placement Rates:
While NYCDA is not currently required by the State of New York or its accreditor, NAST, to track or compile specific job placement statistics, NYCDA does compile job placement information via email, telephone survey and voluntary alumni communication. We are dependent on alumni initiative and responsiveness for our job placement numbers. This anecdotal data indicates that a significant proportion of our students are working productively in the profession, both onstage and on-camera. Many of our graduates have moved into diverse areas of “the business”; i.e. news anchors, producers, agents, writers and stand-up comedians. To date, NYCDA has reports of job placement for a total of 231 alumni; this is a fraction of the actual number of alumni working.
