The following information is provided to students to give them a general overview of the Student Financial Assistance available at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

Students interested in any financial assistance at NYCDA should complete the FAFSA by March 1st each year (for priority consideration), and provide NYCDA with all requested supplemental documentation within two weeks upon request. Eligibility for financial assistance varies based on the type of aid provided.

NYCDA participates in the U.S. Department of Education's Title IV Federal Student Assistance Programs and Grant Programs. In addition, NYCDA provides Institutional grants and scholarships to students who qualify.  Programs include:

• Pell Grants: Need Based Entitlement
• Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: Need Based
• Federal Work-Study: Need Based
• Federal Direct Student Loan: Need Based and Non-Need Based
• Institutional Scholarships and Grants: Need Based and Non-Need Based

NYCDA distributes financial assistance to students based on a combination of factors, which include: student’s financial need, availability of funds, timing of the application, compliance with satisfactory academic progress standards, and other factors on an individual basis. See the Campus Financial Aid Office for additional requirements.

Students have the right to appeal NYCDA’s decision to withhold federal funds. The student may secure an appeal form from the Financial Aid Office, complete the form, provide supporting documentation, and return to the Financial Aid Office for review by the Financial Aid Director. See the Financial Aid Office for additional details.
