CONGRATULATIONS NEW YORK CONSERVATORY FOR DRAMATIC ARTS CLASS OF 2009!
NYCDA’s graduation on May 30th was a resoundingly successful event. Students and their families, as well as NYCDA staff, came to the School of Visual Arts theater dressed up like movie stars; everyone looked spectacular. “The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts – Graduation Today” was up in lights, flashing across the SVA theater marquee– hopefully the first of many movie marquees for our graduates!
Joan See gave a wonderful welcome and spoke movingly about need for true listening as a skill not only for the actor, but for living a successful life. Then the film rolled and a terrific Final Reel played for the delighted, and very vocal, audience.
Jay Goldenberg arranged an elegant post-Final Reel reception at the Helen Mills Event Space. The large room, with beautiful swooping lighting on the walls and wonderful high ceilings, was crowded with happy, excited students and their families, as well as administration and faculty adding their warm wishes. A grand time was had by all, with much dancing, picture-taking, hugging and congratulations.
In the words of Richard Omar, “It was a great celebration. Joan and the entire team did an exceptional job on Final Reel this year, it has never looked better. We were thrilled with the event (hats off to Jay) and the parents and students couldn’t have been more pleased.”
Thank you, Joan, David, Jay, Richard and everyone else who created this glorious send-off. We are proud of our graduates and wish them all the best!
