Ben and Tim

To celebrate his graduation from elementary school, my 10-year-old son, Ben, decided to make some quizzes for his parents (revenge, no doubt, for all the 5th grade tests he had to take)… He let us decide what our subjects would be.  His father asked for a baseball quiz – a slam dunk.

I panicked, since I haven’t really taken a quiz in about 30 years, other than those Facebook quizzes (which I don’t think you can get wrong…) So, figuring I’d stick to my strong suit, I asked him to make me a Tim Burton quiz.

He came up with a surprisingly tricky one. See if you can do it (no fair going to Wikipedia!) — next blog, I’ll let you know how I did:

Ben’s Tim Burton Quiz:

1. What year was “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” released?

2. How many Oscars has Tim Burton been nominated for?

3. What Burton film did Danny Elfman NOT do the music for?

4. How many times have Burton and Johnny Depp collaborated on a film?

Sorry for the delay — here’s how you did!

allan –

1. Correct!
2. Alas, no. The only Oscar nomination Burton ever received was for Best Animated Feature Film for Corpse Bride in 2006 — and he lost to Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit… However, he has a score of other awards from other (smarter) organizations — go to imdb.com for a list.
3. No, actually, it was Ed Wood. Although I realize that perhaps I should have included Sweeney Todd? Forgive me, Stephen Sondheim…
4. Correct!

and

9. Also correct!

Well done. Any thoughts on 5, 6, 7 and 8?

Johansan and Bathroom (really? Bathroom?) — I couldn’t agree more!

In yesteryear people would be looking forward from their favorite authors about the next edition, Time has evolved over and readers like me switched over to reading blogs from a list of favorite bloggers. Keep up the great blogging.
